Why SUP? (Stand Up Paddle Board) or why are we doing this?
Our mission is to connect folks from every walk of life to our water world using the new Hawaiian tradition of stand up paddle boarding. Water makes life on our planet possible! Stand up paddle boarding and other watersports show you just how beautiful and how important our oceans, lakes and rivers are, even in the urban environments from the Lake Worth Lagoon in Palm Beach County to the Indian River Lagoon in St. Lucie County.
Paddleboard Connection takes pride in offering top quality, American made products whenever possible. Our stand up paddle boards are are made by American workers who have a love for this sport.
The surfboard and emerging stand up paddle board industry in the USA were almost wiped out in the last decade due to cheap and often low quality boards made in other countries. Aside from quality issues, the major issue is to keep the American surfboard and stand up paddle board industries alive and allow them to thrive again. They provide jobs here at home to people who actually love these sports! Watersports such as surfing and stand up paddle boarding are uniquely American. We can all do our part to keep more jobs here in the USA by using American made products whenever we can!
We are also dedicated to providing you with a safe paddling experience. Unlike many paddleboard rental providers, our instructors are ACA (American Canoe Association) certified instructors and certified by the Red Cross for CPR/First Aid/AED.The ACA has been around since 1880. They are highly respected in the paddle sports world (canoe, kayak, whitewater rafts, SUP) and teach their students to a very high and rigorous standard.
My passion for stand up paddle boarding stems from a deep appreciation of the traditions and beauty of Hawaii that I acquired while living there. I was lucky enough to live there just as stand up paddle boarding was being discovered by the locals. Paddling with an outrigger canoe team forty two miles in the open ocean across the Kaiwi Channel from the island of Molokai to Oahu gave me a deep respect for the ancient Hawaiians and their connection to the ocean and their sacred land. Modern Hawaiians still have a deep respect for their islands and we can all learn from that. Stand up paddle boarding literally gives us a vessel in which to appreciate and explore the water world in which we live!
Our everyday goal is much less lofty.
We just want you to get out on the water and have fun!
Mahalo (Thanks) for visiting our website!
